Black Box Thinking for vets: Why we make mistakes and how we can learn from them

Everybody makes mistakes sometimes, but if you are a vet the consequences can be serious and distressing for all involved. Introducing the VDS VetSafe system and human factor frameworks developed from aviation and medicine to identify why things go wrong in veterinary practice, this talk will give you tools and tips to deal with mistakes in practice. It will be useful for anyone interested in improving the quality of patient care, learning from mistakes as individuals and teams and supporting each other in the aftermath of clinical errors
