Mast cell tumours are the most common cutaneous tumours that we see in dogs. Most of the mast cell tumours that you see as clinicians are small, cutaneous tumours that are removed surgically with no evidence of local metastasis. The biopsy results are a low-grade tumour and the dogs are sent home with an excellent prognosis. However, some of the dogs we see have multiple tumours, or lymph node metastasis, or even distant metastasis. How should we treat these dogs and what is their prognosis? We will discuss different cases of mast cell tumours, and treatment options and prognosis in each case.

Learning objective:
•    Canine mast cell tumour can vary widely in the clinical presentation
•    We will discuss prognostic indicators
•    We will discuss different treatment options
