Cloudiness of the eye is not always corneal in origin-many important conditions arise from within the globe itself. This session will focus on the major intraocular causes of opacity, including cataracts, lens luxation, uveitis, and intraocular tumors. Attendees will learn how to recognize the characteristic appearances of these conditions and apply a simple framework to guide differential diagnosis. We will highlight which presentations require urgent intervention, such as acute lens luxation or severe uveitis, and which are more chronic or progressive in nature, like cataracts or neoplasia.
- Participants will leave with greater confidence in approaching the “cloudy eye” when the underlying problem lies inside the eye.
Speakers:
Gladys Boo, BSc, BVSc, BVMS (Hons) DACVO, MANZCVS Veterinary Ophthalmologist, Veterinary Ophthalmologist - The Eye Specialist for Animals
