Glaucoma is one of the most challenging diseases of the eye as clinical signs can be sudden in onset and can carry a devastating prognosis for both vision and comfort. This lecture will review ways to identify signs of glaucoma and then tailor a treatment plan with the best possible outcome. While both medical and surgical options are available, recognizing the cause of the high pressure will help clinicians make practical decisions and recommendations. A step-by-step emergency plan is a key element.
