Pain is an inevitable consequence of surgery and providing pain relief in recovery is of the utmost importance. However, pain is individual, dynamic and can be especially difficult to recognise in the recovering patient. Pain scoring is a useful tool to formalise pain assessment and management in the recovery period. In this session we will give practical tips on how to use the tools that are available and institute these in your practice.
