Uh oh otitis! Diagnostic tips to guide effective treatment (LVS25)

Otitis is a common presentation in general small animal practice. In this lecture we will explore the PSPP system, which can direct a logical workup and guide the choice of most useful diagnostic tests in cases of otitis. The use of cytology to inform the choice of effective treatments will be highlighted.

• Understand the importance of primary, secondary, predisposing and perpetuating factors
• Explore the diagnosis of underlying common primary factors, and their role in otitis
• Develop an understanding of otic cytology, and the use of culture and microbiology results in otitis diagnosis
