To Cook or Not To Cook: Talking About Fresh, Raw, and Home-Prepared Diets (WWV 2024)

Knowing the evidence-based benefits and risks of home-prepared diets can help families make the most informed decision for their pets. This session will cover owner motivations, research updates, and resources to get more out of client conversations regarding fresh, raw, and home-prepared diets.

By the end of this lecture, participants will be able to:

• Define and differentiate various feeding methods such as fresh, raw meat based and home-cooked diets for pets.
• Identify various pet nutrition tools and resources to make client communication about home-prepared diets easier.
• Provide accurate responses to the most common questions about fresh, raw, and home-prepared diets with pet owners.
