A good level of Infection prevention and control knowledge by the veterinary care team in practice is more important that now than ever before. This session will explore challenges that we face as veterinary nurses in caring for patients with infectious diseases as they journey through our practice. From reception to wards and isolation and theatre we will look at problems and solutions for how to care for infectious cases without risking the safety of other patients by spreading germs.

    • - principle concerns relating to housing a patient with an infectious disease in a populated area
    • - nursing requirements for an isolation unit
    • - nursing requirements for patients requiring surgery with an infectious disease
