Many farm vets struggle to engage with their pig clients, so let's make it easier! In this session we'll be discussing how to reach out to pig farmers using the new Animal Health and Welfare Pathway. This format gives us the scope to cover many aspects of pig health and welfare, and specifically to discuss PRRS (also known at 'blue ear'). PRRS is one of the most economically important diseases in UK Pigs. In commercial farms, the disease is largely understood and, to some extent, controlled. In smaller holdings however, the prevalence and implications are not so well known. By getting to grips with PRRS testing and the format of the Pathway Review, we can help control a serious disease and foster a closer and more rewarding relationship with our pig clients.
