Nurses can have such a positive impact in chronic & end-of-life care, which can have enormous value to clients & patients - at an often-difficult time; from clinical nursing, to great communication - especially in decision-making, to client education, to practical advice & nursing tips; all the way through to end-of-life planning & procedures, this session will explore the ways in which nurses can be involved in creating the best possible experience for pets & the people that love them.

Learning objectives:
-Consider the importance of optimising mental wellbeing in chronic-care patients, including in end-of-life interactions
-Recognise the importance of the human-animal bond at this difficult time, & the value of teamwork & communication
-Implement optimal nursing care to consider behaviour, welfare & the human-animal bond in all aspects of end of life care
