Rehabilitation

An overview of surgical and non-surgical spinal conditions. Approaching the patient as a whole and not purely focusing on the spinal injury. Nursing considerations for the spinal patient, including common potential complications and how they may be overcome with nursing interventions. Basic physiotherapy techniques, how and when we can use physiotherapy to aid recovery. What equipment is needed and what alternatives we can use instead if we are on a budget. Some examples of hydrotherapy using a pool and underwater treadmill for active exercises as part of patient rehabilitation.
