IMHA and ITP in a nutshell - what do I need to know in an emergency setting? (LVS25)

This case-based lecture will cover the presentation, diagnosis and treatment of IMHA and ITP in dogs and cats. We will particularly focus on cases presenting as an emergency, including discussing when transfusion products are needed and which to select.

• To feel confident in the assessment and diagnosis of patients presenting with anaemia and/or thrombocytopenia
• To know when blood products are indicated and what product(s) to select
• To be able to formulate an initial treatment plan, focusing on stabilising cases presenting as an emergency
