Follow Your Heart: The Essential Cardiology Examination

This presentation will cover the essential components of a complete cardiovascular workup. A proper cardiac evaluation begins with a thorough and detailed physical examination, which is a powerful and indispensable tool for diagnosing cardiac disease. This lecture will delve into specific cardiac PE abnormalities and discuss the pathophysiology of the corresponding cardiac disease. An overview of other components of a complete cardiac work up including ECG, Holter monitor, thoracic radiographs, cardiac biomarkers, and echocardiography will also be briefly discussed.
