Feeding the Senior Pet and Pets with Multiple Diseases (WWV 2024)

Through interactive case examples, attendees will have the opportunity to practice selecting diets for healthy senior pets and senior pets with medical conditions. This session will provide a systematic approach to straight-forward and complicated cases as well as strategies, resources, and tips to make managing cases easier. Troubleshooting case examples will provide ready-to-use and practical tools for veterinarians.

By the end of this lecture, participants will be able to:

• Describe a systematic approach to creating nutritional goals and plans.
• Prioritize diets based on their nutrient profile and ability to meet nutritional goals for each patient.
• Apply strategies and resources to help guide diet choice for easier nutritional management of senior patients.
