Treating the horse in front of you can be difficult enough, without having to stay within the rules of the many differing regulatory bodies that govern equine sport. This session is a practical look at how best to navigate treating our equine athletes without getting a positive dope test.
Learning Outcomes
- Understand the concept of a detection/drug withdrawal time. - An overview of the veterinary rules surrounding equine sport. - A practical guide to managing sport and racehorses to optimise health and welfare, and how to approach treating some common conditions within the rules.
