Goats, although denoted a minor species within the UK setting, can form an increasing part of the general mixed veterinary practitioners case load. Numbers within the UK remain relatively low if compared to our other ruminant species, but they have increased steadily over many years, and the attending vet needs to be alive to the challenges these fascinating animals can present. The session will focus in on our goat patients, provide useful practical tips for examination, handling and common management task; before covering the common diseases and goat maladies in more detail.
