The presentation will consider the surgical removal of the gall bladder. Ensuring adequate exposure and dissection will be discussed. The importance of ensuring patency of the common bile duct together with ensuring there is no leakage post-operatively. It will focus not only on the anatomy and surgery but also on the key importance of adequate analgesia, pre, peri and post-operatively.
