Anesthesia for Dogs and Cats with Heart Disease (WWV 2024)

In addition to congenital diseases observed in younger patients, older dogs and cats presenting for elective and emergent procedures are frequently diagnosed with cardiac conditions. In this presentation we will review the management of anesthesia in patients presenting with more common cardiac conditions

• Understand the pathophysiology of common cardiac diseases and apply this information to their anesthetic management
• Develop strategies for support and monitoring of these patients
