Interpretation of clinical pathology data is integral to accurate disease diagnosis. There are times when the numbers are either misleading, “normal” but the patient is not, or inaccurate due to our own or a machine’s inadequacy. This lecture will present some case-based scenarios where these inaccuracies are exposed, investigated and solutions offered as to how to avoid inappropriate diagnoses in these situations. There will be haematology, biochemistry, and urinalysis cases presented within this lecture.
