Our awareness of proteinuria has grown exponentially in the last 10 years. Routine assessment of a urine protein:creatinine ratio is done in most small animal practices. However, the current standards for determining if protein-losing nephropathy is present and the treatment guidelines are not always clear.
- Accurately diagnose PLN while avoiding pitfalls in the diagnosis
- List the most common points of management of PLN in dogs
- Make informed decisions on the use of immunosuppressants in dogs with PLN with and without a renal biopsy
