Immune-mediated haematological diseases are often life-threatening and managing them requires good knowledge of transfusion medicine, immunosuppressive drugs and clinical pathology. Great communication skills are required in setting realistic owner expectations for these unpredictable conditions whilst encouraging owners to pursue and continue with treatment, which often leads to good long term outcomes. The main emphasis of this session will be immunosuppressant drug use and monitoring.
