This session utilises various cases to explore current issues in internal medicine and uses these cases to suggest rational strategies for the investigation and management of important disorders in small animal practice.
- To recognise the value of a logical approach to solving clinical problems
- To be aware of the importance of both defining and prioritising the problem or problems an animal presents with and then investigating these problems by answering the question: “Which systems or systems MUST be compromised to produce these problems?”
- To realise by developing a logical approach based on the above a prioritized differential diagnosis list can be achieved, thereby rationalizing, and potentially sequencing, what we do and don’t investigate further
