In this session we will discuss the common misconceptions about being a parent and a veterinary professional, and the challenges this dual role presents for a successful return to work.
We will discuss strategies for individuals, line managers and workplaces to ensure successful reintegration of working parents into working life, acknowledging that adjustments are required across multiple areas to ensure the sustainability of the workforce.
- Understand some of the personal, professional and practical barriers for individuals returning from extended leave with a particular focus on parental leave
- Understand some of the challenges for employers needing to meet the needs of patients, clients, the practice as a team and as individuals
- Take away some practical solutions for individuals, teams and employers to foster thriving people and practices.
