Veterinarians are rightly cautious about new technology. This session will demonstrate how AI tools can function as a digital assistant to support documentation and clinical reasoning, without replacing medical judgment. Through real case examples, we will show how platforms like CoVet and ChatGPT can streamline SOAP notes, discharge instructions, lab result follow-ups, referral communications, and medical record reviews. Beyond efficiency, we will emphasize how these tools can strengthen patient care by improving the clarity and consistency of medical records, enhancing case continuity between providers, and reducing the risk of missed information. We will highlight safe workflows, effective prompt structures, verification steps, and audit trails that ensure accuracy, uphold medical standards, and keep communications client-ready.
