Anaemia is a common yet complex presentation in veterinary practice, occurring as either a primary haematologic disorder or secondary to systemic disease. Accurate diagnosis relies on a systematic approach, beginning with clinical history and physical examination, and supported by detailed interpretation of the CBC. Blood film evaluation remains a key diagnostic step, offering insights beyond automated data. Delivered jointly by an internal medicine specialist and a clinical pathologist, this session brings together clinical reasoning and laboratory interpretation to build a clear diagnostic framework. It also explores the emerging role of artificial intelligence in haematology, highlighting how evolving tools are beginning to support decision-making. The focus is on practical, collaborative strategies to unravel the causes of anaemia and guide targeted treatment.
