Pelvic fractures and tail injuries can be highly variable from simple wounds and certain pelvic fractures which only need some cage rest through to quite complicated, and often multiple concurrent fractures or joint luxations. Trauma to the pelvic region is also prone to concurrent neurological damage, such as tail-pull injuries which can have a significant impact on the management and prognosis. This lecture will help you make an accurate assessment of the cat at presentation, help you to confidently navigate the options and different combinations of management options for the fractures and luxations, management of bladder function, and when or whether to amputate the tail.
