Feline stomatitis or feline chronic gingivostomatitis is a debilitating disease that carries a prevalence of 0.7-12% in our domesticated cat population. It presents itself as a chronic oral inflammation that may mimic other oral pathology. Its etiology remains elusive and partial/full mouth extractions remains as the main treatment modality while medical management may be considered as an option for those cases who do not respond well to extractions. Based on previous studies, not all affected cases will achieve a clinical resolution following partial/full mouth extractions and not all cases require full mouth extractions immediately. This lecture is aimed to discuss appropriate case management based on the previously published evidence-based medicine.
