Feline hyperthyroidism is a very common endocrinopathy. With the increased awareness of the disease and the availability of wellness testing for geriatric cats, the interpretation of routine tests has become more complex. In this lecture we will review the pathophysiology of hyperthyroidism and highlight what the limitations of the available tests are. We will also incorporate the most recent evidence to help us identify those patients with early disease, as well as provide guidelines of management and monitoring hyperthyroid patients.
