Molly and Craig will be taking a deep dive into emergency and critical care in rabbit and rodent patients. These cases are where we really get a chance to make a rapid difference. We will look at CPCR and resuscitation, establishment of circulating volume and maintenance of fluid balance, good analgesia options for very unwell patients as well as what is useful in terms of physical and clinicopathological monitoring.
Learning Outcomes
• An understanding of the importance of rapid intervention in the emergent case • How to establish and maintain circulating volume in critical patients • Use of appropriate analgesia in small pet critical patients • How appropriate monitoring affects clinical outcomes
