Sophie, Dan, and Chris will share insights and stories around receiving and delivering coaching, both within and outside of a veterinary context.
They will discuss the benefits of using coaching and mentoring as learning and development interventions, the similarities and differences between them, and when and how to deploy an external coach/mentor or internally develop coaches/mentors within your work environment.
They will also provide some tools and tips on how to be an effective coach/mentor yourself.
- Understanding coaching and mentoring, their impact and value as development tools.
- Understanding the similarities and differences between coaching, mentoring, training, and managing, and how and when they are used.
- Tools and tips for effective mentoring to take away. Understanding the concepts of a coaching style of leadership and communication, together with the benefits of training/qualifications.
- Understanding the benefits and challenges of offering team support both peer support within your team and seeking input from specialist individuals/organisations.
