Creatures of Emotion ‘When dealing with people, remember you are not dealing with creatures of logic, but with creatures of emotion’ Dale Carnegie. As a new graduate I thought being a vet was all about treating and preventing illness in animals. It took me a long time to realise that there is much more to this job. I have learned that reading people and reacting appropriately is key to building and maintaining relationships, both with colleagues and clients. Part of this involves reflecting on ourselves, our values, and our behaviour. The second part is opening our minds, our eyes, and looking at what is in front of us. To do this we need to think about the other person’s perspective and adjust our approach accordingly. An interactive session on how to get the best out of interactions with your colleagues and clients.
