Cystotomy is over 150 years old and much has not changed. Surgeons still leave stones behind and suture material in the bladder lumen causes 10 to 20% of recurrences. This presentation tells the story behind voiding urohydropropulsion and uses a case to discuss how the procedure is used. We will also discuss the three most important strategies to prevent calcium oxalate urolith recurrence.
