There is no doubt that the equine back presents a diagnostic and therapeutic challenge for all equine practitioners. Back pain is caused by a variety of problems, which are usually multi-factorial and often interlinked resulting in a range of clinical signs.
In this talk, we will explore the diagnosis and therapy of back problems, and how to differentiate those that do genuinely have back pain from those that don't. We will also give an insight into the objective measurement of back movement and how elite equine athlete’s back movements are measured.
