What is a portfolio career? Pros and cons and getting the mix right?

It is often said that people have more than one career in them. But having more than one career doesn’t necessarily mean moving away from the veterinary profession, in fact it can mean embracing even more of it. Developing a portfolio career can give you the variety you want, can offer flexibility and can take you down interesting paths you may never have thought of. But as with everything it can also be harder work than a single job, less secure and constantly a compromise.
