The aim of this session is to provide an overview of the processes involved in the preparation of a formal publication for the veterinary community. There are various publication formats available for veterinary surgeons in general practice to write about a variety of topics. An important feature of writing for publication is that it potentially offers an opportunity to develop communication skills and to contribute to continuing professional development for the author as well as the reader.
