Errors can have lasting impacts, on both the patient but also the care giver. Recognising that we are human and not robots can be an important step in preventing patient errors.
We all have that one case that follows us throughout our career. The one when we perhaps wish we'd done something different. Perhaps you made a mistake that's left you feeling low and affected your confidence?
Using cognitives aids can support us in our daily work and assist us to minimise patient errors. This session will focus on the use of cognitive aids with Cardio-pulmonary resuscitation and provide the listener with transferable learnings.
- Identify our limitations as humans
- Recognise when we are most likely to make an error
- Discuss and explore the tools that can support us, preventing errors and increasing patient safety.
