    The session will detail how to investigate recurrent colic, detailing how to use physical examination, endoscopy, abdominal ultrasound and clinical pathology in formulating a presumptive diagnosis. Treatment and management options will be covered. The session will be case based fostering an understanding of what causes recurrent abdominal pain, how it changes and the interplay between aetiology, clinical presentation, diagnostic imaging and treatment response.

    •Understand the origin of recurrent colic
    •Understand the diagnostic options and how to create a cost effective diagnostic plan
    •Be able to formulate a presumptive diagnosis and initial treatment plan
    •Create an appropriate reassessment plan, appreciate when to modify treatment
    •Understand preventative options for conditions which can recur
    •Know when to refer
