Regenerative Medicine heals and repairs tissue through changes in the cellular environment versus conventional symptom treatment. Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) use in veterinary medicine has proven to be a valuable tool to reduce pain and improve articular function in osteoarthritis cases. The lecture will cover the mode of action of PRP, important quality parameters of PRP to look for to ensure consistent results, who are the best candidates for this therapy as well as an overview of the benefits to the patients and the practice. A simple Return on Investment (ROI) model of the therapy will be presented with guidelines on how to present this treatment option to pet owners. All these concepts are discussed under the perspective of common general practice clinical cases.
