Equine and Farm Clinical Theatre
An overview of equine oral abnormalities related to dental overgrowths and those effects on oral health. Particular focus on diastemata, periodontal disease and the practical management and treatment of this condition. We will look at the post extraction site and long term practical management of these cases. The focus will be on how we can physically treat these cases without using advanced procedures and techniques - aimed at the general practitioner.
- Identification and diagnosis of focal dental overgrowths
- Recognition of normal occlusion and how this effects dental drift
- Diastemata - understanding the cause to plan treatment
- Practical treatment and management of diastemata and periodontal disease
- Management of the post extraction dominant tooth and dental drift
- Safe reduction of dominant overgrowths
